CIN has policy on unnamed sources of information. As a policy, CIN doesn’t normally use unnamed sources. However, in rare cases, CIN will allow the use of unnamed sources. Their use must be approved by the managing editor and they must meet certain criteria. This policy recognizes that important stories about corruption, corporate and organized crime and government wrong-doing and military matters, may be impossible to do without the use of unnamed sources.
