2. Editorial Mission
2.1. Editorial Mission Statement
The Media Outlet shall disclose its editorial mission statement which shall be consistent with the fundamental ethical principles of trustworthy journalism, and, as described in the Preamble, should incorporate principles of: ethical practice, good governance, self-regulation and Engagement with the public. A Media Outlet shall set out how it proposes to uphold these journalism principles through its Editorial Guidelines and processes which shall include arrangements in relation to internal accountability and of appropriate external accountability (see clauses 9 – 15). Best practice is to have these arrangements codified and made available publicly.

In carrying out its duties and functions as a press company, terkini.id complies with the Press Law, and all activities related to coverage, interviews and news publications are carried out based on the applicable Journalistic Code of Ethics.
To that end, the terkini.id press company code of conduct has been established, which refers to the Press Law, the Journalistic Code of Ethics and the company's values and objectives.
Journalists and all terkini.id editorial staff are required to comply with Press Law Number 40 of 1999.
In carrying out their duties, journalists and all terkini.id editorial staff must adhere to the terkini.id code of ethics.
1. In carrying out their duties, journalists and terkini.id Company staff must use an identity (Press Card) and company ID card, and be listed in the Editorial Box. 2. Terkini.id journalists are prohibited from asking for and receiving money or any goods from sources.
3. Terkini.id journalists in their work must be independent in reporting, use their conscience and without intervention from other parties, be balanced and have no bad intentions.
4. Terkini.id journalists must respect the privacy rights of sources, not manipulate photos, sounds or coverage results and not plagiarize.
5. Terkini.id journalists must verify information, not mix facts and judgmental opinions, and apply the principle of presumption of innocence.
6. Terkini.id journalists must not create false, slanderous, sadistic, and obscene news and must not mention the identities of victims of immoral crimes and the identities of children who are victims of crimes.
7. Terkini.id editors must use the right to refuse to protect sources who do not want their identities or whereabouts to be known, and respect the provisions of embargoes, background information, and off the record according to the agreement.
8. Terkini.id editors do not publish or broadcast news based on prejudice or discrimination against someone on the basis of differences in ethnicity, race, skin color, religion, gender, and language and do not degrade the dignity of the weak, poor, sick, mentally or physically disabled.
9. Terkini.id journalists respect the rights of sources regarding their personal lives, except in the public interest.
10. The editorial team of terkini.id will immediately retract, correct, and fix any erroneous and inaccurate news accompanied by an apology to readers, listeners, and/or viewers.
11. The editorial team of terkini.id is obliged to serve the right of reply and the right of correction proportionally.
